He smiled again. "Okay, stay safe." Bounding off once again, he ran full out, needing to release the pent up energy he could never exhaust. Kaine dodged trees, jumped over logs and big rocks, and actually found a stream. Running through that also, getting his coat wet, he played around in there for a while, running in place while trying to fight the water's current. He was a puppy in his heart, and he remembered doing this same thing when he was at his old home, though before it was with his brothers.

Lilly got to her feet after a couple minutes of her large meal rumbling around in her stomach. She walked slwoly around checking things out. Returning to the caves she sniffed around and poked her head in the caves to see if there were any residents there. No one was around though. Walking down the sloped back to where she had eaten she looked out into the distance and sighed. Wondering whether it was her time to leave. She really didn't want to but her mind was telling her that that was enough, it was time to go. She sighed unsure, as she always was and sat back down.

Finally, the river wearing him down so that he couldn't go in again if he wanted to, Kaine trudged out of the lake, taking a long drink. Not bothering to shake the water out of his coat, he trotted back home, noticing that the sky was clear again, the sun out, and a nice breeze blowing around. When the rock was in view, he started running again, then stopped at the top, his tongue hanging out and chest heaving. But he was happy. Walking back to Lilly, he saw that she was looking around. "So, you looked around?"

"Yeah." she smiled seeing him. "I was just curious, I guess." She sat there still and silent as the sun shone down on her grey and caramel coat. "You have fun?" she asked noticing he was tired. She figured he'd been running.

Kaine laughed. "Yeah, I found a stream and I tried to run in it...I lost, needless to say." he laughed again, remembering. Then he sat next to her, and tried not to stare. The sun was shining directly on her, and her coat shone like the sun itself, almost blinding him. She had a pleasant face too, he noticed. Kaine, almost embarrased with thinking this, turned back and looked over at the deer, the one which he had killed the buck. "So, do you like it here?"

"Yes, It's a very nice land. Seems safe and all." She smiled back at him as she noticed his was looking at her. She tried to figure out what he was thinking and wondered if he was thinking about her. She, herself, was a very quiet wolf that didn't say much. She laughed a little and then stopped wondering why she had laughed. Watching him she thought he was handsom and strong but didn't know if she should be thinking these thoughs. "You should be happy to have a terra like this."

"Yes, I've only been here for about a day, but I like it the same. It's safe and there's plenty of food." he agreed. He noticed how her teeth flashed when she spoke, almost unconciously. "If you don't mind me asking, how did you get here? I mean, why were you running, was it from someone? Yo don't have to answer if you don't want to though, of course.", he added hastily. He was curious as to why she had showed up fearful.

Lilly cringed as she thought of someway to explain it. "I escaped." she said quickly. "My former mate was evil in some way. He never ever beat me," she stated quickly not wanting him to think of that. "He was always nice but he was very different. He seemed to own these large beasts that killed other wolves and created this war over nothing. I couldn't stand the violence and torture that surrounded me. I was never involved in it but somehow knowing it's around you is worse. And knowing that he was part of it killed me. So I decided to escape. I don't know if he'll look for me or misses me or anything but I couldn't take it any longer. Being alone though was torture to me too. And somehow I followed your howl here."

Kaine's mouth was open when she finished. "Wow. I've heard of the beasts, they seem awful. I'm sorry that you had to make that decision.", he replied, all the while thinking of the wolf-beast that probably controlled them. He shivered. "I'm glad you escaped though, and it's great you're here. What will you do, though, if he tries to follow you? It'll probably be easy for him to do, with the...things..that he controls.", he asked, wondering.

"Go back to him I guess." she stated looking up at him sadly. "I realize you probaby don't want me here with the chance that they'll come for me. I'll be gone by tonight, don't worry." She gave a smile and streached her front feet out in front of her loosening her muscles.

He stared at her for a second, then burst out laughing. "No..I don't care if they come or not, I don't have much of a family around here to worry about them, and I can care for myself, you can stay! It's nice to have some company, really." he added, earnestly. But then the other half of what she said came back to him, and he stopped laughing. "But why would you do that, if you don't like what he does? I don't think he'll hurt you if you refuse....", he trailed off, realizing that, indeed, he actually probably would. And me too, he thought, but it didn't shock nor scare him that a beast would be coming after him. Kaine just didn't want others around him to get hurt, and even more so Lilly.

"I could never fight them off, I'd have no choice but to go with them." She laughed at his laughing. "You really don't mind me staying?" she asked seriously looking up at him.

He shook his head. "Like I said, it's great to have some company for a change, and you can stay here as long as you wish." There was more he wanted to say, but he didn't. Not right now. Kaine sat down again near her.

"Oh," she replied kinda surprised."Well thank you. It's very kind." She yawned and shook out her coat. Laying on the ground she sneezed at the dirt that puffed up at her and then rested her head on her paws, looking down the slope.

He laughed again. "It's allright, a challenge is fun for me. Even if it is fatal.", he jokingly said. Calming himself down, he laid next to her, his paws dangling over the cliff. He watched, amused, as a few pebbles fell down.
