Time and time again. I always end up traveling until I cannot stand it any longer. My pillars ached, barely able to sustain me. If only I was able to stop. Could I? I collapsed eventually, the warm grass welcoming me graciously. I gazed down at my poor, swollen paws. They hurt so much. They were reddish and a little bloody, but it wasn't too bad. I'd suffered worse. I shook my head slowly and began the cleanup. I licked my wounds quietly, holding back whines of pain. It really didn't hurt that bad. I sighed and laid my head on my front paws. All I needed was a little sleep, time to heal, and I'd be on my way again. Yeah, a nice long nap....
A few hours later I awoke with a gasp. What a horrible dream! I shook my head and forced it out of my head. But as I stood, I felt a presence. Someone was here. But who? Or...what? I lowered my head and felt a low growl form deep in my chest and I waited. Something was near, and whether or not it knew I was here, I didn't know. But if it did, and it meant harm, I could fight back, even with wounded paws. Patience wasn't my strongest trait, so the anticipation of waiting for my visitor ate at me. I waited impatiently, eager for the arrival. The sun crept upward, bringing light to spill across the land around me, and show me who was here. I didn't relax much when I saw the other wolf.

A middle aged female wolf stood by a mountain base, crouched down in the long grasses. She stared intently at the figure in the distance and took a deep long breath. That was him . . for sure, she just knew it. A deep rage burned in her chest for that male looking so innocent. She knew he was much worse than he looked, at least he was almost a year ago. She kept staring at him, that deep rage burning brighter, filling her stomach with hatred. A young male, about a year old came up behind the female, low in the grasses too. "Is that him?" he younger male questioned. The female, Lilly, his mother, nodding slightly. "Yes, it sure is." she answered and stood showing herself. "Stay here." she demanded of her son, and the male layed down completely emersed and hidden in the blowing weeds. Lilly bounded forward, trotting easily till she was close enough to the male. "Long time, no see." she spat, baring her teeth, she shook her head just recalling their previous encounter.
(Figured I'd start here with the plot. This is him right? I guess I'll play the pup till rowes comes in.)

When I realized it was a female that lurked not too far away, I relaxed a little. What could she do to me? I figured I probably shouldn't get ahead of myself. I'd met some tough girls before. She stood, but it looked like she had said something. Talking to herself? Weird. She walked closer and then hissed a couple words at me. Long time no see... I thingyed my head, curious. Who was she and when had we met? I tried to remember, but failed entirely. Obviously she remembered me. I felt guilty for not knowing, but then maybe she was mistaken...unless... No, that would be nearly impossible..nearly... I straightened up and tried to throw an innocent smile her way. "Um, I think you might be mistaken...who is it you're looking for?" If she really was from those days, and I really hoped she wasn't, then she should know my name. I seemed to recall making introductions before ruining their lives. I winced inwardly at remembering that small fact.
ooc:// yeah, works for me!

Lilly squinted her eyes at the male. "Have you gone crazy in the past year. I'm looking for YOU, you stupid fool." she spat again. She didn't care if she made him made, her son would protect her if Vasco decided to attack. She really didn't consider this evil forcer her son't father. In her eyes, he had no father. "Vasco . . . you can't really say you don't remeber me, can you? After that wonderful day we spent together. You just can't seem to recall that day you ruined my life, can you?" Shaking her head, she stepped closer, her head low, stalking right up to him. "It figures you remember nothing. But I remember that day all to well, and everything around me reminds me of you and what you did." She wouldn't dare bring her son into this yet, but she knew he was up there hiding, just itching to get down here and rip into the wolf that ruined his mothers life. "Yes Vasco, you could say I'm scared for life because of you. I can't sleep, can barely get on with my day. Luckily I have my son to keep my head on straight. But I've been tracking you just to see that smung look on your face before you die." Not matter haw mad she got, Lilly wouldn't be able to kill this wolf and didn't want to see him die. But scare him was all she lived for.

The female narrowed her eyes in a glare and I knew she was serious. Then she spoke my name. Yup. It was one of them. I stepped back but she came closer, walking right up to me. "Listen, I am sorry for what I did, and I know I can't change anything, but I'm different now. I wish I could prove it, and you have no reason to trust me, but I am." I tried to sounds convincing, because it was all true. It seemed she was out for blood. She had said before you die. Nothing's worse than an angry wolf that's been brooding for a year. I looked her over. I perfectly understood why I had chosen her. Back in my forcing days, though they were short, I had looked for the pretty ones. She was older now, but still pretty. I had done a lot of damage in three months. I braced myself, expecting an attack. "I really don't want to fight you. If you're looking to see me dead, you won't have to wait long. I'm going to end up running myself to death. See?" I stepped back from her and brought a swollen, bloody paw to her eye level. It was looking a little better than before my nap, but it would look that bad again tomorrow if she didn't kill me now. I already knew I wouldn't fight her off. Maybe pretend to, but she deserved to kill me and I deserved to die. How many other young lives had I ruined?
Still, I didn't want to die...

Lilly let out a low growl. "You lier." she said shaking her head. She turned around though and sat down, her back to him. She was muttering to herself, words no one could understand. There was no way she could attack this male no matter how bad he'd hurt her. "I won't kill you." she muttered in a sad way. She wanted to but knew she couldn't. "But I still hope you die." She stood and lifted her tail in a dominate way and went to run off, to leave him alone to die. But the male kept talking. She spun around on him, ready to at least take a chunk out of his ear, but as she turned he lifted his bloody and wounded paw to her face. Right away her eyes softened and her mouth parted just the slightest. Her strong maternal insticts kicked in and she forgot all about why she was here and just who she was talking to. "Oh you poor thing." she mumbled stepping closer. "That must really hurt." There was a sincere genuine sense in her voice and she moved closer tenderly licking his paw.

The female wolf growled and called me a liar, but as she turned, I kept speaking. When she turned back to look at my swollen and bloodied paws, I noticed a change. Her eyes softened, and for once she didn't look angry. She actually looked halfway sympathetic. But she relaxed and went on to speak about "poor me." I twisted my neck to look at her with curiosity and she came back toward me. Her whole body language was different, and what I could sense was non-hostile. The change was dramatic and I didn't even have a chance to realize what was happening before she was right there, cleaning the blood from my paw. I stared at her, unable to say anything in my confusion. Then my brain caught up and I remembered what she said. That must really hurt.. I blinked and then nodded. "Yeah...um it did..." The tender grooming soothed the hurt some and I looked down at my paw. Why was she suddenly being nice to me when she was just looking to kill me? For the moment, I didn't care.

Lilly stood there silently in front of him, gingerly licking his wounded feet. When she looked up and met his gaze, she lowered her head just as quick. Grumbling to herself, she turned away and sat head down and shook it angry at herself now. Why in the world had she just done that? Stupid maternal feelings, just have to help everyone in need. Sighing, she looked up the hill, and not seeing her son, the hair on the back of her neck raised in worry. She reminded herself, he was a big boy and just went off a little ways. "I shouldn't have done that." she muttered, not turning to look at the male wolf, she just couldn't meet his eyes at the moment. The big secrect she was hiding from him was eating her alive.

The short, split second lock of our eyes made me stop breathing, but only for that moment. Then she turned and seemed to growl at herself. I looked down, also unable to look at the other wolf. I didn't know why she did it, and I was sure she didn't. I stared at my foot, now cleaned but still swollen a bit, and then finally at her. She looked up the hill, as if checking for someone. Being naturally observant, I noticed the hair raise on her neck and then she muttered to me. I shouldn't have done that... Again, I stared at the ground. What could I say? No she shouldn't have, or I didn't mind? Ha! She had come to kill me, and now was helping me. I didn't think it would last long. "No, not under these...circumstances. I don't deserve it at all...I didn't give you anything but suffering for all these months. I know you don't believe me, but I really am sorry for it, and I know it doesn't help, it doesn't erase what I did, but please believe me when I say that doing those things to you and the others, it held no meaning. It's not my life anymore, and all I want is to make it up to you, whatever I can do." But what could I do? She hated me, and for good reason. Making it up to her would be nearly impossible. As I was speaking, I had looked up, and walked to stand near her, but not close enough to scare her into attacking.

Lilly's tail thumped against the ground once when she sensed him near, the want to kill him was completly erased from her body. She sat still, looking at the dirt below her paws and thought back on that day. She so wanted to hate him, to hurt him for hurting her. But he'd given her so much more, a son to love and he didn't even know. Then why would he care though, surely he had other offspring. She shook her head and finally raised her eyes to meet his. "You gave me alot more than suffering." she siad softly, with almost a smirk. "I thought, I'd come here, followed you, to hurt you. To make you pay. But maybe I just wanted to tell you . . . " she couldn't bring herself to say anything. "Maybe just to let you see." she looked back up the hill, but still no sign of her son. She didn't hate Vasco, she remembered that night like it was just yesterday and wouldn't change it for the world. Maybe make it a little nicer but she'd never want to erase it from her past.

Somehow, I was curious, or more so about her than others. She came to kill, and now she was completely non-hostile. She was interesting, different, and I knew why I had picked her that day probably a year ago. The female kept looking up the hill and I followed her gaze, but saw nothing. Then I figured it out. She was either tricking me and she had others about to ambush me, or she had a pup, maybe pups, waiting up the hill. If I could figure out which it was, then I was safe. Did I deserve to be safe? I shook it out of my head. Whatever happened, happened. I would let it. "You never told me your name..." I said softly, looking at her with softer eyes. Of course, it wasn't purposeful. I only felt bad for her. When she spoke, I knew I had been right, only it was the second thing I had guessed. She was talking about a pup. "You say I ruined your life...I gave you something? Life?" I asked quietly, sliding closer to her.

Lilly sighed and looked over at him. "My name is Lilly." she said and got up turning her back to him. She didn't want to look at him, for she knew if she saw the beaten and battered male all she'd want to do is help and make his life better. "I'm a good wolf, I've never hurt anyone and yet got tangled with the likes of you. I don't deserve it and neither do you." she said rather harshly. "All you're hoping now is to make it past me alive, that's all you want. You don't care about me, ,or how I feel inside." She lowered her head and just as she went to run off, a rather large, young wolf jumped through the grasses with a loud mean bark and growled deep in his throat. He jumped for Vasco, opening his mouth wide, his white shiny teeth clean and sharp ready to kill.

I stared down again and listened to her. Lilly. It was a nice name and it fit her well. As she went on, he nodded and looked back up at her. "You're right, I didn't deserve it, and you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time..." I stood, and watched he walk a little ways. "No, Lilly... I do care," I said, watching her sadly. I wanted to comfort her somehow, but I knew she didn't want me around. "If you want me to leave, I will. If you want me to die, please tell me what to do to convince you I'm not that wolf anymore..." Lilly started to go and I was about to take a step closer, but I was interrupted by the sight of a large young male barreling towards me. He lunged and I crouched, ready to brace for impact. His teeth got me in the shoulder and I let out a growl, trying to kick him off.

Lilly whirled around at the sounds behind her. Her eyes were wide and filled with fear. The young male wouldn't give up easy, and pressed down on Vasco. That little taste of blood from his shoulder, was just enough to fuel his anger. He growled and snapped his teeth wildly hoping to hit something. He wasn't a pro in fighting and really hadn't before, but he was up on that hill watching and decided that male was just getting too close to his mom. "No, Don't!" Lilly yelled, her eyes tearing up. "Stop it!"

I knew I could take the younger wolf if I really tried, but killing this young wolf wouldn't help Lilly trust me. I dodged the snaps nervously, knowing if he hit I would hit back. He pressed his weight down on me and I growled fiercely, a warning that I would fight back. His teeth snagged my neck and just barely broke the skin. Now I had two wounds, and I knew if he didn't stop soon, there would be more blood, from the both of us. I pulled one of my paws out from under him and swatted at his face hoping to push him off or at least giving him another warning. Maybe a scratch to teach him a lesson about picking fights with bigger males. I used my strength to push him off and finally got out of his hold, back up and growling, another warning. "You shouldn't pick a fight you can't win, boy." I growled again, blocking my chest so if he attacked again, he wouldn't knock the breath out of me.
