♥Carly White♥
I almost said something. The look on Roxy's face made me want to comfort her somehow. The fake smile nearly did it. But I remembered I would wait for her to talk when she wanted to. I sighed and folded my hands on the table. Selfishly, her next words sent me grinning. "You mean it?" I nearly squealed. "Yeah, definitely. I'd love to see the horses." I smiled as the food came, smoke rising from the hot meals. Sizzling steak and provolone cheese...I took it in, a deep breath as the smells greeted me. Mmm... I picked up a knife and cut the sandwich in half, easier to eat.

Roxy smiled genuinely then. "Ok It's a deal. We'll stop by there on the way back." Looking downwards, she took in a deep breath of the scent of the food and lifted a fork and knife. Eating hungrily, she seemed halfway done in the first few bites and then paused, letting the meal sit and just gazing around, then taking a long drink of water.

The fresh smell of food wafted towards our table and my mouth watered. The sandwich was delicious and I ate each bite almost reverently. It was so good that, as I finished off the first half, I toyed with the idea of ordering another. Roxy spoke with a genuine smile as she said we would stop to see the horses. I smiled and took another bite. The sandwich was perfectly cooked, but my mind went off in a new direction while I envisioned Roxy's horses. I sipped my tea and finished off my sandwich. While I moved on to the fresh, hot fries, I glanced at Roxy. "So, what kind of horses did you say you have?" I wondered what her place was like, and the horses.
