Ava caught some movement at the side of her eye and she smiled seeing Belle. She barked a happy welcome and stood up streaching. "Come on, there's plenty left," she offered with a smile. She's always been maternal around other and always felt the need to care for those around her.

The invitation was simply irresistable, and Belle dashed out of the cave, flying down to where Ava stood by the deer carcass. She eyed Ava for a brief second, making sure it was okay that she eat. And then she ripped into the deer, savouring the sweet sensation of the meat. It had been days since she'd eaten, and the shock of taste was wonderful.

Ava laughed and layed back down so Belle could enjoy her food. She was happy to be able to provide something for her new friend. And by the looks of it, it was well appreacieated. She grinned and lay her head back down relaxing as a few rays of sun filtered down through the clouds.

As Belle ripped off some more bloody flesh, she blushed a bit. "I'm not normally this uncivilized. I'm just really hungry," she mumbled around a bite of meat.

"I understand." Ava replied with a bright smile. "You just fill yourself up." she shook her head and sighed looking towards the sky. She kinda wished the clouds would move enough to let the sun shine down into the canyon just for a little bit, but the coulds were always there.

Just as Ava suggested, Belle ate and ate until she was so full, her belly might have exploded. She settled down beside the remains of the deer, now hardly any flesh left. She began to lick her paws and muzzle, cleaning herself off after her messy eating. "Thank you," she mumbled, the words tumbling from her tongue. "You're very generous."

"You're very welcome. I'm glad I could help." she smiled and streached out trying to warm herself on the few sunrays she could find. Yawning she didn't wish to sleep again but the eating had contented her into a light nap. Her ears twitching to make sure her friend wasn't harmed by anything while she lay there. She had begun to think of her as her own and would protect her if need be.

Belle settled in, also in a napping mood, thanks to the huge meal she'd eaten. She laid her muzzle on her paws, letting her eyes close, and she drifted.

Ava heard the even breaths of the female and it brought her further into sleep. She rolled onto her back, feet in the air, and snorted as the darkness overcame her.

Belle jumped, ever so slightly, but stayed asleep. She thought about how nice Ava was, and how motherly she seemed. She'd never really had a real mother, and it was nice.

Ava yawned and woke up again. Life seemed so lazy and boring. She smiled seeing Belle but she stayed laying down trying to think of what needed to be done.

Belle woke soon after Ava did, yawning hugely as she stretched. "Wow, that was a great nap!" said, her eyes struggling to open fully.

Ava woke to the light voice of the female. "Hi there." she said blinking in the light. She sat up and yawned looking around. Streaching her neck she smiled at Belle wondering what her story was.

Belle hesitated before speaking. "So... Is it rude for me to ask why you're alone? I mean, no pack, no alpha.... If it's impolite, you don't have to answer. I was just curious."

Ava tilted her head. "No it's completely normal to wonder. I wasn't born in the wild. Instead at a human facility. I escaped when I was young and fled. I had found a pack at one point but disaster killed them all. That was far too many years ago. I had 3 pups in that past. 1 never was born and miscarried, 1 killed at a few days old, and the other grew to be a strong young wolf an d recently left my side. I had stayed with another female a few years ago while I had my daughter, Missy, and lived there till she decided to leave. Now, i'm happy wondering. I haven't found a mate and don't wish to claim a land if it means someone else won't get the change to have a land of their own."
