Kenyan laied close to her, letting their fur mesh together and their bodies melt into one. He nodded, still watching her belly, and then sighed. "Well we'll do our best to keep them all happy and healthy." He smiled and nodded some again. He couldn't think right now of losing one. That was just too much to think about. "And I love them too. Even though I don't know who they are." A confused look crossed the males face but it didn't last long. He was too happy and excited. Looking towards the rabbit, he ripped it open taking one bite. That one bite made him realize how hungry he was but he shook his head. "You need it more than I do. I want to make sure those pups are well fed." He grinned and licked her face lovingly and then lowered his head to rest against her belly. "I'm your Daddy." he said softly, nuzzling Delilah's white fur on her underside. "Be safe in there." he said and tenderly licked where his head rested, keeping close to that spot.

Delilah smiled at her loving mate, happy and grateful he was here. Her mother hadn't had such a wonderful mate by her side, and so she had been raised by only Candice. Delilah loved her mother, but had always wanted a dad. That's why she loved Quigley so much now. He was as much a dad as she needed and wanted. Somehow, Delilah knew Kenyan would be so much more than just a father to her pups, but a friend and teacher as well. She couldn't wait for her pups to be born. All she wanted was to watch Kenyan interact with them. It made her warm inside to imagine it. She could already see them out in a field. She wondered what they'd be like...probably white as both herself and Kenyan were white.
Kenyan spoke of how he loved the pups and she what he meant. He love for her unborn puppies was overwhelming, somehow just as great as her love for Kenyan. Maybe more. He took a bite of the other rabbit and then said she needed it more. She saw the hunger in his eyes, but pregnancy was making her greedy. "Well...," she said looking at the rabbit and stuck between hunger and guilt, "Okay, but you better make sure you get something to eat, too." She finally gave in and devoured the other rabbit. The last bite was enough to fill her and she licked her paws clean while Kenyan snuggled against her and the pups.
Delilah listened to Kenyan speaking softly to her unborn puppies and smiled, resting her head on her paws. The air was warming on her back and she was glad her fur was white and not darker. The warmth of the sun was just right and felt a chill go through her as her body warmed inside and out. She sighed contentedly and moved closer to her mate, sleepiness taking her over. Her eyes were heavy, but she stayed awake for him.

Kenyan grinned as she finished the other rabbit, glad to know their pups were safe and content. He nuzzled against her when she laied closer and rested her head. Licking her ear, he stood briefly and sreteched before curling up around her. "Rest my dear." he said softly seeing her heavy eyes. "A nap is well deserved." He lay his head down, his ears still up and alert for any dangers that might come to harm the family he loved so much. He'd die to protect them, and never wanted any harm to come to them at all. A small yawn escaped him and his eyes fluttered closed. Ignoring the hungry pit in the deep of his stomach, he napped well with his mate, dreaming of their future and the pups to come. He'd have to find a nice big dinner for them.

Delilah smiled again at Kenyan and closed her eyes, feeling him curl around her. She opened one eye to watch him fall asleep and then she closed her eye again. She loved to see Kenyan so protective and caring. She was happy to know he would be the best father her pups could have. Just knowing he would take care of her and the pups was more than she could ask for. Her mother never had this, never had someone to protect her when Delilah grew up. Of course, she never would have met Quig if she did. Delilah shivered, remembering that awful day, but tried to think of what it led to, her mother's happiness. That made her fall asleep smiling.
Delilah dreamed while she slept, mostly of Kenyan, his parents who were now gone, but that she still loved like her own. She dreamed of the day she met Kenyan and his family, how they had opened their home to include herself and Candice. And the time she first started crushing on Kenyan, when she licked him and he was only confused. They had both been. Then she dreamed of her pups, and the future. A reminder of the war that was now past crossed the dream, but it was gone before she could be scared. She slept for maybe two hours.
