It had been a long time since Delilah had seen her mom and new dad. Candice and Quigley were happy the last time she saw them and even though she had some trouble trusting her new father, she did care for Quigley and was happy that they were happy. Quig was nice enough and the past had been confusing and rough, but these days things were perfect. She had Kenyan now. They were perfect together and nothing could make her regret the past. And somehow, she felt a surprise coming soon. The weather was nice, today was warm and the sounds of the waterfall nearby made it serene. The sun was high over her head and it shone down radiant streams of sunlight that kissed the earth and warmed her back. Perfect happiness....
Delilah strolled calmly through the land, a lot on her mind. She hadn't checked in with Kenyan since yesterday morning. She felt a little guilty about that, but she needed some time to think. She knew what was wrong with her, or what was going on anyway. It wasn't wrong of course, to her. And she knew it wouldn't be a problem with Kenyan either. She sighed and sat down. She knew he'd be looking for her, especially since she smelled other wolves on the land. Her eyes moved to gaze at the clouds. Time to stop evading him. She would let him find her and then they would talk.
I don't know if you want them to have pups yet but that's kind of where I'm going with this. LOL is that okay?

(Might as well, seeing as it's been so long since we've done anything at all on here, lol)
Kenyan was closer by the waterfall, looking down at the clean, clear water. He sighed and lowered his head until his nose touched the cool liquid. He snorted and slowly went to lapping up the water. After he finished, he licked his muzzle and shook out his coat with a deep sigh. Something just felt different to him. He layed down against a tree and flicked a fly away with his tail. His eyes flickered shut as the sun warmed his body and he thought back on his life. His mom was gone now, she'd lived to a ripe age and had a good life, his father dissapeared long ago. And into his memory came the day he met Delilah. He had been a shy pup, his white fur made him stick out against his many brothers and sisters, and playing was not his thing. But that young little female pup brought something out in him, he didn't know existed and she'd done the same thing everyday since then. She was special and he was grateful to have her in his life. But they were grown up now and ran land of their own. They had no pups but rather lived a seemingly solitary life, just him and her. With that, Kenyan's eyes opened and he sat up, yawning just the slightest. It occured to him that he hadn't seen his wonderful mate in quite some time. And with that, he trotted off away from the comforting waterfal until he came upon the familiar white figure sitting there alone. He let out a single bark and made his way towards her silently until he sat right in front of her with a wolfish grin on his face.

Delilah was reflecting on her life while not too far away, although she didn't know, Kenyan was doing the same. She remembered when it was just her and Candice, her then-single mother. They roamed alone until they found Kenyan's pack, with his parents who were now gone. She remembered the happy days, up until that horrifying afternoon when Candice was forced by Quigley. Delilah didn't know the whole story but somehow they fell in love. Even though it was horrible then, Delilah knew they were happy and she never mentioned it now. And Delilah had been falling in love too, as a puppy. The puppy-love turned into more and now she and Kenyan were happy. Together. But Delilah could remember all too well the day that Kenyan's father, a father-figure to her as well, disappeared. She'd freaked out, but they all had to move on. And then, when things were still sad, his mother, too, left them. Delilah was lucky to have two parents, when Kenyan had none. And she was guilty, but she knew Kenyan loved her parents as well.
Delilah sighed when she was finished remembering. She opened her eyes, only then realizing they were closed, and felt a single, salty tear fade away as it slid down her face. She inhaled deeply and smiled, looking down at her stomach. She knew what was happening now, even though you could not tell yet. She still had her slim, white figure. Her eyes were darker now then they had been when she met Kenyan, but she still looked mostly the same. The sun warmed her further and she wondered where her mate was. Just as she was about to look for him, she heard a bark. The bark caused her insides to flip and she smiled thinking of how he still had that affect on her. Her smile widened when she saw him and she felt warm on the inside, not just on the outside where the sun beat on her. "Kenyan," she sighed happily. He showed that familiar wolfy grin he always seemed to have on his face. She licked his nose happily at the sight of her mate.

Kenyan's grin widened when Delilah licked his nose. He returned the favor, delicately licking her nose, and then muzzle and cheeks, showering her with his affection. "Hello my love," he said softly, in a sweet almost puppy like voice that was filled with youth despite his years. "Where have you been, stalking around and keeping away from me?" His voice turned serious yet still playful. He always got worried when miss Delilah was away, out of his sight, for more than a few hours. He knew he was overprotective of his love, but she was all she had left. Keyan was always loving and affectionate and with both his parents gone and siblings dispersed, Delilah was the only one left for him to love and care for. And he took that job very seriously. He knew he would just die if something ever happened to her. The twinkle now came back into his light and happy eyes and he lifted one of his large paws, pawwing playfully and carefully at Delilah's face. His tail thumped against the ground, and he showed his teeth in another wolfy smile, just daring her to join him in a playful game.

Delilah smiled back at Kenyan and let him lick her face. He asked where she had been. This, she knew, would happen. He would surely wonder where she was when she wasn't with him. He was protective and she loved that. Who wants a mate who doesn't care? She sighed and her smile was apologetic. "I'm sorry, love. I need to do some thinking, and I thought I needed to get away for a while. But I missed you too much." She licked his face again and watched him lift a paw to swat at her gently. He wanted to play. They always played, it was just them. They were still two love-sick puppies in their minds. And for good reason. But as much as she knew she wanted to play, she was suddenly filled with worry. What about the pups? They must be so small and what if she hurt them? What else was she not doing to protect them? Her maternal instinct immersed her and her smile faded slowly. "I want to play, Kenyan, I do. But what if I hurt them?" He'd be curious of course. What was she talking about? "Kenyan we should talk. I have good news."

Kenyan nodded at her answer to where she had been and grinned. "Just don't go to far." he reminded her gently. "Or let me come with you." He sighed at that offer though as he knew she surely wanted time alone to herself some days. Maybe it just wasn't the same to spend all day with him anymore. He still liked just laying around with her much more than being alone. His paw slid back to the ground in a defeated way. He lowered his head wondering why she turned him down. She always liked to play and run with him. He tilted his head then and raised his deep brown eyes up to her. "Hurt them?" he questioned. And when she said they needed to talk his expression became even more worried yet curious. "Talk about what? What's wrong?" he pressed standing up on his feet in a dominate way. His eyes drifte from the one he loved around the surrounding land for intruders. Surely someone had done something to her to make her act this way. And then a horrible thought hit him square in the face. She'd gone off to think alone and now was talking about 'them'. The fact she'd said she'd missed him completely slipped his mind. His eyes turned back towards her with a sorrowful look and he knew he'd cry if his thoughts were comfirmed. "You're leaving?" he said sadly, ever so softly it was more of a thought than a comment.

Delilah sighed when he talked about not leaving too far. He couldn't think she'd do that again, could he? She smiled and licked his face again. Then he asked what was wrong and she looked down. It wasn't wrong...right? How could she say it? What if he didn't want them? Of course he'd want them! She ended her rambling thoughts then, too afraid she'd think of something to change her mind about telling him. "Kenyan--" she stopped when he stood up. She lowered her head a little and watched his eyes changed from worried to sad to dominate and sad again. You're leaving... His words hit her hard. "No! Kenyan, I'll never leave you. I love you." She stood and looked him right in the eyes. "It's good news, Kenyan." Delilah sighed and looked at the grass again. "Well, I think so anyway..." Her eyes met his again. "Kenyan...I'm pregnant."

A relieved breath escaped through Kenyan's teeth. He nodded, trying to calm his now quivering muscles. Of course she wouldn't leave him, she loved him. And he would love her until the day he died. He could imagine loving anyone other than her but surely that would change now. His pupils widened and he stared at her silently for the longest time. "Pups?" he questioned softly, tilting his head to her. "Really?" He looked unsure and a little out of it but that wolfy grin crept back across his face. He let out a very happy, excited bark and than raced off through the grass. He just ran and ran then returned to her and pounced on her excitedly, not even thinking of the tiny pups inside her. He really didn't know any better and he was just too excited to contain himself. Licking her face and ears, he finally eased his weight off her and sat on the ground, his tail wagging as fast as you could imagine. Looking at her belly then, he licked it softly and raised his head to her eyes. "They are mine right?" he questioned almost seriously wondering if something went on he didn't know about.

Delilah was relieved to see Kenyan's signature grin slowly return, but after a long silent stare. Suddenly, he was running. She laughed, so happy now. It finally hit her because before, she was alone in this, well except for her mom who she'd told during the time she was hiding from Kenyan. How silly that was to think of! Hide from him? She watched him run and run until he finally returned and licked her joyfully. When he stopped, and sat down again, she sat up and smiled to see his tail wagging faster than she'd seen it wag before. "So I guess you're happy?" she laughed. Then he asked a question that should have made her act seriously, but instead made her burst into happy laughter. "Of course! How could I be with anyone but you, Kenyan? I've only ever wanted to bear your pups." Delilah licked his face and then looked back at her stomach and smiled, admiring the little lives she was now responsible for.

Kenyan nodded and shook his fur out. "Well of course I'm happy!" he exclaimed, pawwing gently at her face. "How could I not be. I'm going to be a daddy to some little pup. And you a mother." He grinned and licked her nose again, nuzzling her lovingly. He didn't even care if they were his or not, though he was happy the were. "Is this why you were gone? Were you afraid to tell me?" He stood up and walked around her as if checking her out and looking for changes, wanting to see this large belly. He was almost dissapointed he found nothing really different about her. He nudged her then and trotted off. "Come on, you can't be out here. Need to get you back where it's safe and get you a good meal." He grinned back at her, his tail still wagging furiously. "Gotta keep these little ones healthy."

Delilah chuckled and watched his tail wag faster and faster. Then she nodded. "Mostly. I was just thinking too much and worried myself. Still, I should have gone to you first." Kenyan circled her and she smiled. He was just so happy that she couldn't help but grin. She knew what he was looking for. Pregnant wolves had big stomachs. But it was too early for that. She stood with him and nodded as they walked back home. "Sounds great. I'm starving, so are they." A streak of motherly worry hit her and she wondered if they really were starving. Her pace quickened just a little, eager to feed herself and the pups.

Kenyan grinned and led the way back to the waterfall. He had a pep in his step as he praced in a nice even trot, not too quick for her to follow. His poor head was still swimming with this news and he couldn't be happier. Stopping by the little lake where the waterfall landed he turned to her, still with his bright smile. "You stay here and rest. You must be tired too." He licked her muzzle and went off again through the weeds to bring his mate and their puppies a nice filling lunch. Not even worried about feeding himself, he tracked some rabbits, enjoing chasing them and playing around with them before he killed them for good. He just felt like such a puppy at heart now. Grabbing up two large hares carefully in his teeth, he trotted back to his home, still prancing and wagging his tail. Dropping the meal by Delilah's feet, he nuzzled her again and took another look at her belly as if just waiting for it to swell and grown. Sighing to himself, still seeing no change, he looked to the rabbits. "Eat up." he said softly, sitting close by. He hadn't brought anything back for himself and left her to eat the hares as she pleased.

Delilah laughed and followed her happy mate to the waterfall. He was practically skipping with joy. Then he told her to wait by the little lake and she smiled, sitting where he said. When he disappeared into the weeds, she watched the water spilling over the edge of the falls, crashing into the lake only a few hundred feet away. She could feel droplets of water invading her fur, and the cool spray surrounding her. When she looked back to the place Kenyan left, she noticed the sun spilling over her, giving way to a light rainbow that surrounded her. She was still, just in awe of it. Then Kenyan appeared and she grinned, seeing he had brought food. "Mmm...rabbit. My favorite." She laid down to reach the rabbit he had dropped before her. He had brought two large hares, and the were quite appealing. She ripped into one and felt the warm meat slide down her throat. She realized how starving she was. She then saw Kenyan eying her stomach. "Kenyan," she chuckled, "It'll be a while before I'm fat." Then she grimaced at the thought of being huge. "Ugh, and it will take forever for me to get back my figure..." She sighed and took another piece of meat.

Kenyan first just watched over her and the rainbow that surrounded her, adding to her beauty. He watched over her as she ate, making sure she did eat and got enough. Lowering his head, he just peeked up at her. "But I don't want to wait." he pouted pawwing at the ground. He grinned then and came closer to her, with a wide smile. "You'll not be fat," he said nuzzling her softly. "You'll be so pretty, and you'll be back to your normal self chasing all our pups around." He grinned and moved his head closer to her stomach. "How many do you think there are?" he asked getting anxious. He just wanted them to come out. "Hello!" he called at her stomach. "How many of you are in there?!"

Delilah smiled and blushed a little, although it was hard to see through her thick white fur. She continued to rip at the meat and finished a whole rabbit. Then she smiled at what he said about not wanting to wait. "I know what you mean...I can't wait to see them crawling around us. And see what they look like." The thought made her smile. Then Kenyan came over and her smile grew. What he said made her nuzzle him. and she smiled into his fur. Their coats blended as they were both white. Then she sat back up and watched him eye her stomach. "I don't know... my mom had five including me, even though I was the only one to make it..." she shook the reminders out of her head and continued, "but I've heard of litters with seven or eight, and sometimes only one or two." Then she chuckled when he started talking to the pups. "They should hear your voice before they're born, that way they'll know who you are when they come.I know they already love you." She grinned and snuggled up close to him. Then she saw the other rabbit. Despite her still being hungry, thanks to those pups, she picked it ups and dropped it in front of him. "You need to eat too."
